These giant mites are attracted to dark and damp places. It is a perfect breeding ground for their offspring. Lightning Mites build a static charge by rubbing their chitin together while walking. They can release this charge as a defense mechanism, electrifying their attacker with the strength of a lightning strike.

The Lightning Mite is an Enemy in UnderMine. Lightning Mites are first encountered in Delvemore Dungeon. When it stops moving, it releases an electric discharge which does not damage the player if they touch the Mite. If the player damages a Lightning Mite in this state by attacking with the pickaxe or using a bomb, the player will take electrical damage; indirectly dealing damage such as using the Large Ember will damage the Mite without it counterattacking. This attack also electrifies any water the Mite is standing in.

They are immune to electric damage (e.g., electrified water, Thunderbird attacks). As their attacks are classified as electrical damage, they can be reduced by carrying Gordon's Tunic or taking along a level 2 Thunderbird.

Familiars can attack the Lightning Mite without it counterattacking.

The Guidance relic should be used cautiously in rooms with Lightning Mites as the pickaxe can ricochet to them.
